Brandon Routh is reprising his role as Superman in the Arrowverse and we have thoughts

Before you begin reading this, we must warn you that the post will contain small spoilers of what it is to come in the DC Comics based TV Series from the CW.

A new report has stated that Brandon Routh, the actor who played Superman in the 2006 movie, will be reprising his role in the upcoming CW series from the Arrowverse, in the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

WTH?! We don’t know about you, but as much as we were looking forward to see the Arrowverse expand even further, we are no longer that excited for Crisis on Infinite Earths to happen.

*Spoiler alert* Now, not only our absolute favourite superhero from the verse – Oliver Queen, aka the Arrow, will perish in the upcoming series as we’ve learnt in Arrow Season 7, but now Brandon Routh will reprise his role as Superman. For those of you who have not been following all the shows in the Arrowverse, let’s summarise a few things to help you out.

Brandon Routh was first introduced in Arrow as Dr. Raymond ‘Ray’ Palmer, the buyer of Queen Cobsolidated and later on, a love interest for Felicity Smoak. Then, he became the Atom and joined the Legends on their quest to save history.

Now, they want him to be once again Superman. That makes total sense right? I mean, one actor can play two different characters in the same universe. Should he though? The Arrow-verse is complicated as it is and even more so if you don’t follow all the series and watch the crossovers.

So while we are happy for Brandon, we are really not happy about this decision. An actor can play multiple characters at once and that is completely fine, but how are they going to explain the fact that the two characters look the same? They are simply going to ignore the fact most likely since Legends of Tomorrow is coincidently the only show from the entire DC Comics universe currently running on the CW that will not be included in the crossovers with Crisis on Infinite Earths.

That is so rude!

Guys, we don’t know, but this whole Crisis on Infinite Earths is loosing its appeal by the second. We have the feeling that the entire show will be nothing more than a major clusterfuck.

Since they are aiming for multiple Superman characters as the actor playing Superman in Supergirl will also join the cast of Crisis on Infinite Earths, maybe they should gave asked Tom Welling from Smallville to reprise his role instead.

How do you feel about Brandon Routh playing two unrelated characters in the upcoming show?

Gossip Girl is getting a reboot and here are the deets

Hello Upper East Siders! Cafebiblioart here, your newly relaunched source of information. Sorry, we could simply not help ourselves over there and had to do something super cringe worthy.

While we might not be quite ready to launch in this new formula, we knew we just had to bring you this piece of information as soon as we heard the news. The teenage cult TV Series Gossip Girl is getting a reboot. Despite the rumours, we did not see that coming. Did you?

Our first reaction was to jump up and down in our brand new office. The people next door were looking at us like we were crazy, but who cares! Gossip Girl is coming back to TV and that is all that matters. For one second, all was good in our world.

This is what we know about the revival.

Gossip Girl got a straight to series order. This means that no pilot is needed before they start shooting the new season.

Yes, we are getting an entire new season and it will consist of 10 hour long episodes.

The TV series will launch on the HBO Max platform which is WarnerBros’ (HBO parent company) own streaming platform. HBO Max is thought to launch in beta later this year, but unfortunately we won’t be getting access to the full platform until next year. This means that Gossip Girl will also launch in 2020 as opposed to 2019. We waited this long so we can definitely wait one more year.

However, here comes the sad news. While the executive producers from the original show are back for this revival, there is no news regarding the cast. As far as it is known, the new Gossip Girl series will have an entirely new cast and a different plot.

The new Gossip Girl series starts “eight years after the original website went dark” and when a “new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl.” It sounds amazing, doesn’t it? However since the protagonists are teenagers, the chances of us seeing what Blair and Serena are wearing now is kinda slim.

In addition, the new TV Series wishes to tackle what the life of these teenagers looks like under the surveillance of Gossip Girl in a world where technology developed and the use of social media is part of everyday life. Now to us, that is the true selling point of this new series.

So far, this is all we know. Rest assured though, we will keep you updated.

In the meantime, you can watch the original series on Netflix.

How do YOU feel about the revival of Gossip Girl?
